WELCOME!
I am Erica from the USA. I am a TESOL certified English tutor that has been teaching English online to children ages 3-16 full-time since 2016. Even though my area of expertise is the young learners, I have tutored many adults as well. I have been tutoring adults, both in person and online part-time since 2019. I very much enjoy teaching English as I am an avid traveler and language learner myself. I have invested many years learning Spanish to a B2 level and so I understand some of the challenges that my students face when trying to improve their English.
Before I started teaching, I graduated with my Master’s degree in Accounting. Shortly after, I realized this was not the profession for me so I decided to make a change. I then left the U.S. and started traveling the world for many years. It was throughout these years of travel when I realized my two biggest passions in life: traveling and teaching.
Teaching Experience
I have been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) online since 2016. I have worked with various companies over the years and have taught over 3,000 students! I took what I learned from each company and put it all together to create what I believe is the perfect teaching method for young ESL students. My goal is to make learning fun! My student's all look forward to their English lessons and meeting other students from around the globe.
Traveling Experience
My love for travel is what lead me to start teaching English. I wanted to earn a living remotely so that I could experience living abroad and traveling to other countries. So I searched for a job that I could do on the road so I could keep traveling indefinitely, which is what brought me to teaching ESL. In 2016 I quit my job in Accounting, sold everything I owned, and started traveling, while teaching English online to children across the world. Since then, I have traveled to over 30 countries in South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia and even lived in Australia for two years. I became fascinated with traveling because I was meeting so many interesting people and learning so much about all the different cultures around the world.
English Across The World
I absolutely love getting to connect with people from different countries as I believe we can really learn so much from each other and love having this experience with my students as well. I began to form group lessons with students from different countries in which each student would share information about their countries and cultures. The students were so excited to make friends from different places and learn from them and with them. So I thought I would create a bigger platform to reach and connect even more students from even more countries and that is where English Across The World was born.
